About the Network

The Meaning in Language Learning network is a forum for multi-disciplinary dialogue among language learning experts. language teaching practitioners and other stakeholders in language learning.

The theme of the dialogue is “meaning”, which lies at the heart of cross-cultural communication. “Meaning in language learning” can be understood in a variety of different ways. The motivation for setting up the network came out of state-of-the-art theoretical linguistic research into the role that grammar plays in the multiple ways that different languages express meaning.

The aim of MiLL is to bring different perspectives on meaning in language learning together, in order to create a richer understanding of this fundamental element of language learning, and to stimulate new research and knowledge sharing.
